This is a great school i am currently going here and both my brothers, my mom, both aunts cousins, and pretty much everyone on my moms side. This school has wonderful athletic and acadenic programs. They are willing to work with those students who fall behind and have numerous steps to ensure they graduate(if they are willing to work hard). Also they have the best athletics in the county. The negatives that i would like to see improved are more school spirit from the staff & students. Also more interaction with the students from the staff in the office and counselors(seems some are there just for the check). However this ia wonderful school and the best way to enjoy it is to get involved and join things.

Hi my name is A and i went to this school four years was suppose to graduate 2013 and i finished at open campus because i was given a class that i failed from 9th grade that i retook and this school is highly unprofessional and the only reason anybody would want to go to this school is because of the sports that's it the overall teacher population has declined i was actually told from a teacher "i don't care i'm still going to get my pay check. Not a good environment to learn, the school cares more about they're appearance than the students learning and experience. And i finished my classes and i still yet to receive my diploma due to many excuses.I hate this school i would not recommend it to anyone and not just because of petty reasons.Go to Heritage or Salem or a private school anything but this school.

I am just fed up with RCHS! School started in August! It is now November and my child has had a total of 4 Spanish teachers! There is a constant revolving door of teachers at this school! Get it together Rockdale! Aren't you tired of being the underdog?

Rockdale HS is a great school. All schools have there ups and down and here I dont look at one bad apple spoiling the bunch. I have had issues with the school but that does not determine the out come. With one child already graduated and three more in the process, I feel that the school offers many opportunities for children. The staff are courteous and responsible. The school itself is the Icon of Rockdale county being the first high school built. I am a Proud Parent of Rockdale.

I'm a junior at Rockdale County High school and to be honest, unless you're in either all AP (advanced placement) classes or in Magnet (Rockdale Magnet School for Science & Technology) you're not really learning anything. Its like the teachers really don't care; its like they go there to get a paycheck. Also, they focus so much on disciplining the student they forget about other pressing issues. Also, the school spirit is very lacking, the only time we have a pep rally (If we have one in the year) its either about football or basketball. You really don't get to know about the Drama department, or the Art department who works really hard at what they do. If I could choose the school i went to, to be honest, it wouldn't be Rockdale.

When I first walked into RCHS the staff was very helpful and courteous. It's my daughter's nineth grade year, and she likes all classes and teachers. It's a relief to hear teachers are doing a great job teaching students.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to send their child to this school. It's as if the teacher's don't know how to teach. They don't really focus on the students as much as they should. The kids have no self discipline and give the school a bad name. The school trys so hard to focus on disciplining them by suspending, expelling, etc. How are we supposed to learn if we're suspended? I understand that if you did something wrong, you have to pay the price, but sometimes we go to ISS (in school suspension) for the dumbest things. Also, the teachers call parents for every little thing as if it really helps. Maybe if you worked harder on teaching it to us better we wouldn't be failing your classes. Another thing is, there isn't enough school events. There's only really basketball and football games. No fun events to get kids motivated to pass.

My oldest went to RCHS, he graduated last year. ADD, ADHD, with meds. I can say without any reservations that had it not been for Mrs. Barros as well as some of his teachers, he would not have graduated. Mrs. Barros is one of the most amazing people, she treats every child as an individual. She very easily could have given up on my child when even he wanted to give up....RCHS is lucky to have her on their staff.

I think this school focuses mainly on dicipline with very little effort in educating the children. Discipline is absolutely important and even vital but put the same level into academics. The children are not learning at top level. My son was here for 2 year. He transfered to the open campus and it's amazing how well he's doing. I think most of the teachers are good but they don't go the extra mile. I think the Principal is doing the best she can with the opposition she faces.

My son graduated from this high school and he and his best friend now attend the same college. Many changes took place while he was there. He complained that the school lunches were getting worse each year. He had his share of good and bad teachers, more good than bad. The math textbooks are old and difficult for the students to learn from. Much parental involvement and support was needed to get him through his senior year. Not an easy school to succeed in but your child can do well with much hard work.

Great school. Great teachers. This year has been the best so far...

So glad my student graduates this year. She's had three principals in 4 years and the current one is by far the worst. There are many wonderful, dedicated teachers at RCHS, but with the ineffective, inconsistant, unknowledgable leadership, they either struggle along with the students or develop a 'my hands are tied' attitude. Rapidly changing demographics have taken their toll. This school used to be a gem...not so sure anymore.

My daughter transferred to RCHS in her Junior year and she loves it. I have met a number of her past and current teachers, a numerous Guidance Counselors and they all seem to be very genuine in their efforts to teach, guide, and encourage students to advance in their education.

My son transferred to this school this summer and he hates it. He is learning the same stuff he learned two years ago. Because he was getting all 100's in his Math class his teacher told us he could work on other school work during class. He really doesn't like the atmosphere of the school. I have found it impossible to get the front office or the counseling staff to lift a finger and they don't seem to have a clue when you ask them anything. The iParent is almost never updated and it gives so very little information. Overall I am extremely disappointed with this school, so much so that I am trying to sell my house so we can move to a different district.

The school is an excellent place. The teachers that I have met are wonderful and seem to care about kids. I will say this, excellent administation. I am aware of the Magnet Program and its admiistration, and unlike the other review. Mrs. Suddeth and Mrs. Arnold do absolutely nothing, from what I have seen and heard from teachers.
